Lessons from Plants

I have this plant that my Dearest Human gave me over four years ago.

It often sprouts a new leaf near the full or new moon. This is the one today, with the full moon coming in four more days.

Lately, it’s been starting to drop a lowest leaf now and then, and I became concerned. It’s very special to me.

Being on an intense journey of growth myself right now, I stood there and looked at it, and realized.

It is letting go of what no longer serves it. Making room for the energy of new growth and direction.

Plants can teach us so much. They flow with the seasons, send roots down deeper or shallow, seeking nourishment and water. Network with their companion plants. Bloom and celebrate Being. Go dormant and gather up energy. Drop leaves to make room for growth. Bend and twist to follow the light. Make the best of the environment in which they find themselves.

What a lovely meditation this sweet plant gifted me this morning!
